This week I received a tube of Burt’s Bees Naturally Ageless Skin Smoothing Hand Cream* from Chemist Direct, a handy online pharmacy that provide everything from vitamins to toiletries and much more at a discounted price that you can peruse from the comfort of your own home.
With a retail price of £14.99 (Chemist Direct is a little cheaper at around £10) I think this is a little on the pricey side for a hand cream but I do love Burt’s Bees products so I thought I’d give it a go.
The packaging is typically Burt’s Bees in style. It is plain, simple and gives you all the information you need, something I’ve always liked with the BB products. The hand cream was also sealed with a foil seal which means it stays fresh, but unfortunately this is where my positive first impressions end!
The one thing I cannot get over is the smell of this product! I actually searched the internet to check mine hadn’t gone off! The smell is overpowering, so much so that I’ve actually struggled to use the hand cream. And it would seem I’m not the only one, as my whole family can’t seem to get along with it either!
However I wanted to give it a fair go. Trying to ignore the smell, I focused on the texture which is thick and moisturising but not greasy which is a bonus and you can really feel the Shea butter softness.
As with all beauty products you’ve got to give them a chance, so I shall persevere for a bit longer and let you know!
