Canvas Design – Review & Giveaway

Anyone who knows me, knows my love for photography and receiving post, so last week when I was sent probably the largest piece of post I’ve ever had, courtesy of CanvasDesign, I was naturally very excited!

Inside many a layer of protective cardboard and ‘FRAGILE’ tape was a canvas print of one of my very own photos.

First I want to give you the story behind my photo. It is one of my favourites, and brings back a lot of lovely memories. It was taken during my Gap Year, when I was travelling around Europe with my boyfriend.

We were in Bari, Italy for just one day, before taking the ferry over to Croatia. We wandered around the town with our backpacks on, and stumbled across the Basilica of St Nicholas (aka Santa Claus).

Unfortunately the Basilica was closed, but there had been a wedding earlier in the day and the church steps were littered with confetti and white roses, so with a little bit of arty macro use, I managed to take the above shot of a slightly wilting white rose. So when CanvasDesign asked me to send them a photo for my canvas*, I had no trouble picking one.

And boy was I happy when I opened my parcel. The photo looks beautiful and there’s no loss of quality, despite the photo being blown up to such a large size (my canvas is 30″ x 22″). The colours are true to the original (I know it looks different, but that’s due to my camera and the light in different rooms of my house) and there’s no distortion, something you can get when photos are blown up so large.

The photo also wraps around the sides of the canvas, meaning there’s no ugly white strip. Delivery was also very quick (and it’s free!), with me receiving a text message confirming the delivery date and options of leaving it with a neighbour of organising redelivery if I was going to be out.

I’m totally in love with my canvas, but don’t feel left out – CanvasDesign are giving you the chance to win one of your own! The prize will be a photo of your choice, put on to a canvas of any size from their range.
