September Beauty Empties

I know, I know, this is very overdue. But you see, I put all my empties in a safe place, so they would all be in the same place when I came to photograph them for this blog post. The thing is, I completely forgot where that ‘safe place’ was (ahem, I think it may be something to do with my age…)

But none the less I thought I would do a little post with the beauty items I used up in September, so here they are.

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in Ivory 100
Quite frankly I’m ashamed to say I put this near my face (and my poor Real Techiniques brush!). I liked the sound of this, so when I had a sample in a magazine, I thought I’d give it a trial run. The description from Rimmel says
‘Feather light, liquid mousse blends flawlessly for natural-looking, all day shine control.

Silky smooth formula leaves a perfectly matte, baby-soft finish. Lightweight texture

won’t feel heavy or greasy. Minimises the appearance of pores. Oil Free’
I’m sorry to say I disagree with pretty much every part of this! Yes, it was a silky smooth formula, but light it was not, and I would go as far to say my skin felt suffocated underneath. The matte finish was there but it was incredibly hard to blend. As for ‘oil free’ I’m sure my foundation brush and hands would disagree and it took an age to wash both and to break through the oily coating on them. Safe to say I won’t be purchasing the full sized product!
Garnier Moisture Match for Combination to Oily Skin
I adore this product (review here) so it’s no surprise I’ve gone through another tube of the stuff! A definite repurchase for me!
REN Active 7 Radiant Eye Gel*
As a devotee of REN I really wanted to love this. However I didn’t find it much different to the Body Shop Elderflower Eye Gel. It was cooling and tightening but not moisturising enough for my under eyes. I think I’ll stick with cream formulas in the future.
Bodhi Jasmine Falls Relaxing Bath & Shower Therapy*
It’s taken me a while to get through this bottle of shower gel from Bodhi, due to the fact that a little goes a long, long way. I found the scent a little overwhelming at first, I wouldn’t say I ended up liking it, but I got used to it in the end. For longevity and value for money I would buy a Bodhi shower therapy, but perhaps not this scent.
Aura by Swarovski

A lovely deep musky perfume from Swarovski, and I’ll be popping the full sized product on my Christmas list!

Elegant Touch Rapid Dry for Nails
As someone who changes their nail colour so often, having something to speed up the drying process is a must. I was skeptical about this spray at first but it really does leave my nail touch-dry quicker than leaving them to dry the natural way. Helpful for if you’re a busy person, or have limited patience (like me!). Have already repurchased this from Boots.
